Traditional Scottish Dances. (Crazy K)

This question is aimed mainly at Crazy K, and the Scottish members..

These days the huge majority of my work is weddings, and there's usually lots of requests for tradional Scottish dances. I'm fairly confident at teaching people how to do the 'usual suspects' such as Canadian Barn Dance, Gay gordons, Dashing White Seargent etc. My question is can anyone recommend a good "teaching" DVD that covers a large range of Scottish dances?. I'd like to learn more so I can in turn be more confident at leading more of the traditional dances.

Hi shuan there was a video a while back called jim mcleods ceildh dance party.It had most of the popular dances on it.This was recorded at a live barn dance somewhere so you get to see the dancers doing the moves.
I have a cd its called first footing by the riverside ceildh band on it the band talk you throught the moves of the dance,its a good one to have in your collection if your like me and do a lot of weddings,

I picked up those that I do from a friend who is an expert.

The killer is Strip the Willow --an absolute MUST!

Probably the Royal Scottish Country Dance society is the best place to start---up your way!!!!
