Its the little things..

So I've been sorting out my kit this week, maybe selling a few things etc, but decided to buy a few bits, extra dmx leads etc.. and thought about buying a small table for cd's etc, a lot of the venues don't seem to have a spare one when you get there, so bought one of these for £30.

Very easy to set up, nice black and aluminium design and very sturdy, might get a black table skirt for it to cover the legs, but used it this weekend and was great, held all my cd's plus the lighting controllers with loads of space.

So what its a table, worked for me!!

then clamps, how can you get excited about clamps, I wanted some clamps to put some lights (led pars) on top of my truss, rather than hang them, now my truss (ultimax) is square bar and most of the "on top" style clamps are for round bars. Until i found these beauties, there made by Doughty and are called supaclamps, and they just work! they'll clamp to almost anything. but they're blooming expensive, i paid £78 for 4 !!!!!!!

The table is so simple yet so so effective. I think I am going to have to get one myself. Many thanks for sharing ideas.

What weight will it handle. I ask because I have two boxes of CD's, clocking in at over 20Kg's each and the table doesn't quite look strong enough for that.

Once finished I'll take photo's. But the boxes I made for my new lighting, turned on end, worked exceptionally well last night for holding the CD's - no need for extra space or expense!

The table looks Ok though!

I bought a cheapy stand marked as a "DJ Deck Stand/Keyboard Stand. Works really well. All folds down into a 2 foot long hunk of metal, really strong, and perfect for CDs...not sure about frantically playing the keyboard/DJing mind...

What is the width between the legs and the clearance height wise?

I normally stick my bass bins under the table. They are 47cm wide and 53cm high. Would they fit?

I'm surprised that you find a lot of venues don't seem to have a spare table.

In the last 24 years, I can count on my fingers the number of times there was no table for me, therefore I personally wouldn't get one, as I don't want to carry in something extra which I won't need 99.9% of the time.

Also, as already mentioned, this table appears to be advertised as a camping table. I'm just wondering how sturdy it is, and whether it will cope with heavy boxes of cds as well as it copes with a few plates & cups.

Wouldn't use the table to put my deck on though, just for ancillary stuff, now mikee I usually have 2 full slappa 600 cases and a slappa 360 full of cd's on this table so dunno what weight that is, i wouldn't trust it with too much weight, but coped well for me.
