what lighting to get for about 350/400

hey guys looking to get my first lighting rig, i have got about 350/400 to spend any ideas on what i could get.... iv been looking at these

they are an average light but good for starting out i would look on the www.djanddiscostuff.com website i would go for the dynamos

i would recommend the dynamos, or look on djbids for some good cond. used isolution

Got to agree about the Dynamos. If your lucky you'll pick them up for around the £300 mark (for 4 lights).

I'd then suggest spending a little bit more (an extra £150 ish) and get a pair of Acme Pumas, then you'll have a basic, but suffiencent lighting rig. I wouldn't personally just gig with the Dyanmos.

Personaly, if you are just starting out I would look at getting some room filling effects first, such as moonflowers. 4 moonflowers (such as NJD Datamoon), will fill a fairly big dancefloor with light and have more of an effect than scanners on their own, which would only put 1 gobo as opposed to multiple gobo's from a moonflower.

Don't get me wrong, there is a place for scanners and I use them on my own rig, but would not recomend using them on their own.

They are so good I'm selling my Datamoons if you're interested... it's the 2-head kit with controller and flight case, you could pick up another pair secondhand, link them all together and still have change to go shopping for some barrel scanners.

i was thinking of adding another duel 100mw green laser for my rigg and maybe getting 2 moving heads aswell maybe 250w discharge with rotating gobos for the and also liked the mirror balls that tony scott were posted on the gallery

i was thinking of getting the 4 dynamos and adding 2 zoom jazz lights to them for added light, as i have found a package with 4 dynamos, 4ft stand and bar, case for the 4 lights, bag for the stand, and starcloth for about 500, i this would sort me out big time as then have the main build for my rig, then all i need then is another pioneer cdj as already have one, and mixer then almost there. just thought the deal on lights would be good as get stand etc... cheers guys.:beer1:
