New start up HELP

:bang: Thinking of starting a mobile disco and need some help.

I gather the prices are set inbetween the £120 - £250 a night mark up here in the north if am wrong tell me. but before i get into this, "is work regulaur?" / what is the avarage wage per week? "

i know this is a how longs a peice of string question, and all depends on how i market my business!

other things would help if some one could advise on me like start up costs how much and what equpitment not to bother getting as well as what to get.

i wont be doing the djing but finacinniig the business and my good friend will be doing it, taking a 35% cut for doing the work. but the equiptment will be mine,

Welcome to the forum, why not introduce yourself properly in the Newbies section?

You're right, it is a bit of a how long's a piece of string question, but I'm sure some of our members will give you some words of wisdom.

I have two words for you "Market Research".
Right how far are you will to travel?? Get a map and draw a circle around where you are based to the maximum you are will to travel, then make a note of every Hotel, Village Hall, Pubs etc etc in that area, then you need to find out how many of these have entertainment and how often. What is the "going rate" in your area, this can change quite a bit between metro and rurual areas.
As for kit, don't go OTT, you may find that if you do, you will either use too much at a gig, or it gets left at home in the garage.

Or, find two or three local DJ's that will talk to you, and build a picture from them.

Too right when you enter into any type of business you must see if there is a place for your company , if your gonna make money out of this or not etc.

I would like to add that if you are in it just for the money and have no passion for either the DJing or equpment side of things then it may not be for you. It is only my opinion, and please anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but most people originaly get into mobile djing because they have a great love for it.
