The Chauvet Gobo Splash is a good light as a centre piece. It can be found in most manufacturers ranges and the only thing that changes is the name and the price, and the cheapest of these is the Stairville Tomahawk (http://www.thomann.de/gb/stairville_tomahawk.htm) there is also the Source Samurai and the ACME Stormbird.
They use a 24v 250 watt ELC lamp and are controlled by sound to light only, there is no DMX control facility.
A good light to buy as an individual light.
Perhaps it may be better to save up your money for a while and get a set of ACME Dynamo Scanners about £350 for 4 with a basic controller, this will give you some variation in your rig.
Failing that, start to buy your lighting in pairs. Lighting rigs look a lot better if they are symmetrical and I would start to look to getting lights that work as a master slave configuration and/or some degree of DMX control. Whilst you may not require it now, it is likely that you will go that way in the future.
