Xmas and New Year

Hello,

I know that this might be a bit early, but what sort of prices do you charge for doing Xmas and New Year gigs. Obviously they will be more than regular gigs, weddings, but how to determine reasonable rate?

NYE around £400 - £450, Xmas eve, £200 - £250 is about average in our area.

I'm booked for both already:

Xmas Eve x 2 @ £300
NYE x 2 @ £450

I also do Boxing Day too and am doing that at £250

hmm tricky one.... Just depends on the travel and size of venue etc... as most functions really.... No point looking for £500+ if all the venues and jobs local to you are only willing to pay up to £300...

Personally i'm booked out for 15 dates so far through December up to Xmas eve at between £400 - £450 per night but not actually booked for Xmas eve yet... although not sure i want to be this year as worked it last xmas and missed going out with family and friends on that night....

If i was working Xmas eve i'd probably look for around £300 - £450 depending on where it was and times etc...

New years eve i'm booked at £550

Working Xmas and New Year!....been there done that. I no longer work any of those nights. All year I'm out working every weekend and miss countless loved ones birthdays and get-togethers, so I made a decision to never work either of those 2 nights again. I much prefer spending the time with family and friends.

I charge normal-ish rate for general dates in December, I've never worked a Christmas Eve yet, purely because I've never had an enquiry for one! I've done NYE for the last 3 years, don't think I could afford to take too much time off over December, as i wouldn't be able to pay the tax bill in January!
