Does anyone know if there have to date been more than one version of the HD2500 available in the UK?

Just wondering what to look for when buying second hand.

ive just bought a denon 2500 after looking at the numark, the cortex and to poor old laptop idea - i reckon that therell be alot of laptops being used only as lighting controlers soon. :lol:

theres only been one denon 2500 as far as hardware goes but there are two diffrent software versions inside - theres the original 1002version and the new 1004verson - if you buy a 2500 with 1002 verson in it you can just download the 1004verson off of the Denon webpage and load it into the 2500 using USB - easy.

I was at the last SEDA (am I ok mentioning seda? please delete this senence if not) meeting a few days ago and the denon guy was saying about a new software version coming out June end with some tasty extra features - and that too will be a free usb update.

So it looks like the thumbs up for the Denon HD2500 over the D2 and or the Cortex 3000.

I have just seen a dealer on ebay selling for £599 that has got to be a good price and listed as new...

Still not got mine, as I was forced to buy a new set of rackmount CD decks (got the DN-D4500 - excellent decks).

That seller, although based in Birmingham (I think), ships from the US. You may or may not incur a customs charge, probably not 9 times out of 10.

He's based in Milton Keynes and I bought a mixer from him.

I didn't leave him feedback because although the unit was fine and UK spec, it was from the US which he didn't say.

I don't like dishonest people.

In all fairness to the guy, he shiped a mixer to me (Denon 1500s) and it was a 110v american unit. I rang him and explained and he told me to package it up, he will arange collection and send me a new one. Following morning, brand new one on the door step. He told me that he does not want an un happy customer and if you read the customer questions on some of his items, he does state that the items are bassed in the UK (does not mean they are UK models).

Its a risk you take as I am sure your arranty wont hold up too much. apart from having to change the plug (like you do on all Denon gear) mine is top notch.

I thought that might be case... He is from Milton Keynes and states 3-5 days for delivery for collection at Milton..

Think I will stick with a proper UK supplier... just need to find the best price

Having great fun exploring what it can do.......
