Hi
Am considering getting some additional lighting ( can never have enough toys :) ), am looking at a couple which incorperate the use of prism's namely;
Acme Storm Bird
or
Kam Mandarin Dragon
Any one got any experience of either of these lights ?

I've used stormbirds for a while. They're bright and good for filling large rooms / high ceilings etc. but the program is a bit fast and there's no DMX - sound-to-light only. These days I find myself using them less and less in favour of moons and scanners.

Have to agree, not enough control either..........no DMX.
Ok to use now and again during the night on the really fast tunes but do have to be rotated with other lighting or they become a bit tiring to look at.
What other lighting have you got Alan?

Hi Tony
I currently use 2 x Acme Leo's, 2 x Acme Puma's, an ILaser 30mw ( yes I know no smoke/hazer not much of a show) and a Wild Tech Hallucination ( normally providing effect on the ceiling). First 3 are controlled by CA-8 hand controllers.
Although having done some research tonight maybe i should consider a couple of colour changers ( i have been looking at the videos of the i Rock IR-4c).

Just dug out a couple of vid clips of my small rig with stormbirds on it. There's one in the centre pointing at the floor, and one top left pointing at the (very high!) ceiling.
Quality's not so hot but you get an idea. This was in a large sports hall.
