Tried to search for an answer but no joy. Now I was always under the impression that PCDJ's always ran laptops!. I'm guessing a few run desk top pc's ie tower and monitor. If I wished to go this way, what size pc , type of processor, soundcard etc would i need, you really are going to be talking to a techno phobe,:eek: so go steady please.:beer1:

Well i just built a new one as a backup.
You will need something like this
Maya 44 PCI sound card
and ATX/mini atx mother board
case
500Mb-1Gb memory
Processor to fit Mother board ( pentium 4 2.4 Ghz or more)
Mouse
Keyboard
Two Hdd. one for operating system one for music
Should cost around £250

To be honest, most laptops are not meant for this purpose, so you may run into issues. You'd be better building a 'console' (as mentioned in another thread), with a rackmount PC case in it?

Also, (as i think i've said on all the other identical threads on this forum) you can chop and change parts much easier with a rackmounted PC, and it doesn't mean sending a laptop away for things to be fixed.

i,ve gone for the cube cases, very small yet same as the normal ATX cased pcs.

rackmount is a little on the large size these days though.

Pretty good, although I am not keen on Micro Star boards. The only boards I have total confidence in are Gigabyte, Asus and DFI Lanparty (more of a gaming board that last one)
