Mackie SWA1501s are fairly compact for an active cab.

Yes and I was impressed with the subs , they used 12" tops with them and I think they drove them a bit hard but the subs sounded good to me, if I didn't already have 2 pairs of subs I think I would buy a pair.
They were folded horn subs not sure if they are any better than the conventional type, maybe someone more technical could explain the difference.

folded horn subs are designed for long throw (throw the sound much further) where as reflex cabs are for short throw. also folded horn cabs are alot more efficient are around 105/6 db 1w/m where as a reflex 98/99 db w/m the only problem with folded horn bass bins is they are usually very heavy and you have to have at least two or more to get a low bass sound from them as a reflex cab.
