Hi guys,
On 21st May I ordered a carpet case online & paid the £51.05 with my credit card.
Later that day I had a phone call from the company saying that the case was out of stock & had been discontinued, so they wouldn't be getting any more. They offered an alternative which was more heavy duty & more expensive. I said I'd like to see what it looked like before deciding, so they emailed me the dimensions & some pictures. It wasn't what I wanted, so I emailed back to cancel the order.
On 23rd May I received the following email from them:
Dear Robert,
We have made a full refund and cancelled your order today. Please allow 3-5 days for this to reach your bank.
Kind regards,
Sxxxx Sxxxx

Last Friday, 1st June I still hadn't received the refund to my credit card, so I sent the following email:
Hi Sxxxx,
Further to your email last week, the 3-5 days have past, but the refund of £51.05 has not appeared on my credit card account.
Please let me know what the situation is.
I look forward to hearing from you shortly.
Regards,
Rob James.
I'm still awaiting a reply to that email, and am starting to get a little annoyed, so I'd appreciate your advice on what I should do next.
Thanks guys!
:)

Put it in writing and request a reply within 7 days,if that does not work send them another stating that should a reply not be recieved from your later letter that you will be regretably left with no alternative other than to take proceedings via a small claims court

I would allow a couple more days as the 3 to 5 days falls on a weekend this may be the reason of the delay.

I could be wrong, but don't you take up this sort of thing with Visa?
My understanding is that they then stop the payment or contact the seller or something along those lines anyway. Could be wrong.

That's what I thought, Will, but I wasn't sure.

I'd be patient and wait a few more days. I've had credit card refunds take a couple of weeks to appear. Sometimes banking systems can really slow down to a snails pace.

Yes totaly agree if they said they have refunded I'm sure they have.
When you spend money on a card comes off same day , when you make a payment takes up to 7 days to be credited, strange that!

To update the position, I've just received an email from the company which simply says "Dear Robert, This amount has been refunded, Kind regards"
On 23rd May, they told me the refund would take 3-5 days.
It's now been 15 days and STILL no refund, so I'm beginning to wonder WHO they've refunded...if anyone at all!

Wow - my refund finally arrived after 16 days...slightly more than the 3-5 days they SAID it would take.
What a :Rob James: company...I won't be using THEM again!

May not be their fault credit/debit card company may have taken that long to credit your account.
