Full payment at time of booking

just got a wedding booking finalised.The client said that they would like to pay the full ammount now at the time of booking.This is good news for me i wish that there was more like this.
Has this happened to anyone else recently?

Not had that before, not unless its booked only 2-3 weeks before the gig, in which case payment is due straight away due to my normal 14 days in advance terms.

I've never had that either, although some clients send me the balance 2 or 3 months before the gig.

I offer to take full payment upfront "to give you one less thing to think about on the day" for wedding bookings. About 1 in 4 cough up :p

Took full payment for a Wedding we are doing on 21st July 07, customer booked over a year ago at a wedding convention there and then, on the spot in CASH £££ :eek:...........freaked me out a bit, some people are so trusting, must be my honest face :D

Ive had it on the odd occasion, usually the client wants it all done and dusted. One client in particular practicaly stalked me she was so desperate to pay up front, almost 12 months in advance. Although its nice to get the money in the bank early, on those occasions that someone has pre-paid, I kind of miss the satisfaction of being handed the cash on the day.

Yeah i take a few payment up front about the same as Vectisvibe about 1 in 4. Short notice are different of course as I ask for all payment up front or I dont unload the car.

I think it's a wedding thing, I've just booked a DJ to play at my own wedding (after a previous post on this board). I think you just want that extra piece of mind that everything is booked and paid for well in advance.
