Following on from the Bernard Manning thread, I thought a seperate thread about everyone's favourite comedy and comedians would help keep that thread back on topic! :p

Here are some of my favourite comedians, past and present, roughly in order by how funny I find them...

Lee Evans, Peter Kay, Tommy Cooper, Bill Cosby, Jim Carrey, Jack Dee, Ronnie Corbett, Freddie Starr, Jethro, Frank Carson, Jim Davidson, Richard Pryor, Roy Chubby Brown, Bob Monkhouse, Ricky Gervais, Billy Connolly, Harry Hill, Jerry Seinfeld, Eddie Murphy, Bill Hicks

I'll keep an eye out here for anyone worth checking out, so suggestions please ;)

Some of the above make me laugh...Tommy - only had to look at him and that did it for me.

One to add The Rochdale Cowboy.....Mike Harding....very funny with music as well.

Seen him twice way back....side splitter!!

I love comedy, but my brain's not working at the mo...

Love Lee Evans. Used to really like Ben Elton, 'till he was on the BBC...

Just thought of another one...Kenny Everett.

His TV shows on ITV & the BBC were classic!

Oh, as for TV comedies...

Father Ted (funniest show ever to be aired!), Only Fools & Horses, Fawlty Towers, Men Behaving Badly, Seinfeld, Frasier, Black Adder Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, The Office, Extras, Porridge (was never keen on Open All Hours somehow), One Foot In The Grave, Bottom, The Young Ones, Little Britain, Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy, Peep Show, Friends...

:D

MONTY PYTHON!

Alexei Sayle

Lenny Henry

Harry Enfield

(I agree with many mentioned, just didn't see those ones mentioned.)

However, funniest shows, for me, are Scrubs and Boston Legal, which is odd because I generally prefer English comedy, I mean, I spell humour WITH the 'U'!

MONTY PYTHON!
Forgot all about that one :o

Although I don't find it as funny as most.

Alexei Sayle

Lenny Henry
Alexei Sayle was the only character in the Young Ones who wasn't funny - just plain annoying

Lenny Henry is another one who seems to be popular, but I'm not sure why! :p

Harry Enfield
Doh! Another one I forgot about, 'Harry Enfield & Chums' is solid comedy gold!
Scousers - "Alright, alright, calm down, calm down!"

That is the correct spelling :D

Who was talking about The Young Ones? I was referring to his series the Alexei Sayle Show (Who's that fat b'stard?)
How's that for a Rick Mayall reference?

In a word - Chef!

"YOU are SO unfair!"

"She's called Frogmella. It's exotic."

That is the correct spelling :D

Heh, I even pronounce the 'H'!

You have to admit he's a waste of space in it, he was probably only guesting because he was famous, and Mayall/Edmondson/Elton were just starting out! :)

In a word - Chef!

Admitted. Bear in mind that Alexei was only just coming into the mainstream when he was guesting on The Young Ones.

His own shows came later.

His series, 'Chef!', brilliant!
