Anyone signed up for 1venue.co.uk??

Been receiving emails as I'm sure we all get from directories offering to list us. This one seemed no different.

I got the registration form emailed through and realised they are asking for 10% of our advertised fee to be paid by the client directly to them as a deposit which they keep. We then pick up cash from the client on the night.

They suggest we add a bit on to the price to cover this 10% and in their words "Everyones happy"................I'm not, ! :mad: :mad: :mad:

Who are these people, not my agents thats for sure!

Anyone else had dealings with them?

I registered "my interest" haven't as yet added myself to the directory (considering I filled in every details about me and the next man, before the site opened I thought I was done) looks like I'll have to do it again if I want to list there.

Not sure I like the way it works, as it's not a normal directory.

Yeah, my issue is they are asking for money from the client as a deposit, this means we get no deposit ourselves :eek: and therefore have no security. Not for me, I will steer well clear!!!

think its someone trying to make money for doing sod all
i wouldnt do it
its like i knew some who got sent an e mail saying if you pay us 50 pounds we can get you disco work
my mate did not take my advice and steer clear and paid the 50 pounds and never heard nothing back
also the guy from http://www.1venue.co.uk/ on the site says he is a dj/web designer i think its a pretty crap website for a web desiner
