I know a few of you currently use PC based DMX. I'm ready to delve into now, as I personally hate programming scenes on hardware dmx controllers.

I plan on using Freestyler on a laptop.....what else do I need?.

Any web links to the kit I'll need would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Not that I use it, but I've seen others using this http://www.enttec.com/index.php?main_menu=Products&prod=70303&show=description

Had a look at the enttec one and looks good, you would need to get a 5pin to 3 pin coverter but for the money this looks spot on.

Another I found: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Computer-USB-DMX-Lighting-Controller-PC-Interface_W0QQitemZ180126697687QQihZ008QQcategoryZ 14984QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

This is a bit more costly but looks excellent, I might get one as a back-up or so I can run 2 pc's for DMX! :D Just have to check if it's ok with freestyler, the enttec one should be.

The one I use now is fine. It was from Maplins but was a kit and had to be soldered up, not a problem for me but not so good if your unhappy around a soldering iron!
