Lights for a favour.

I have a mate who's in a band (5 piece -Indie) and they want to buy some lights.
They have 4 par cans but that's it...:eek:

So would like some additional lights and stands for £200

Can anyone make some suggestions?

I am doing a function with them and do not mind them using the lights I have but feel my scanners maybe a bit fast for what they want as I'm not DMX yet.

Depends what effect you want! Your scans will add something extra with some movement, even better if you can use haze or fog. If they are mainly doing ballads, then you have a good point about fast lights.
They could do with another 4 PARs though, 4 each side is a minimum really. This should be a priority, after getting 4 more cans, why not suggest a couple of cheap flower type effects? They would look good positioned on the floor towards the back of the band point up and towards the audience. It's upto personal preference really!

Not my effect..I'm trying to help someone else. (sorry not meant to be be rude-but have mentioned this to them)
Not sure about haze or fog as not spoke to venue yet.

The 4 pars they have a different colours all pointing up from the floor...they got that bit right - I think!!!
I suggested maybe 2 colours flashing on and off with different gels...his reply was 'What's a gel....:eek: ....I have a mic...rock and roll..'

Would agree they need at least 4 more pars and two stands 2 pars on each side.....question is price?

4x par cans on two t bars (either side of the stage)

one t bar at the back with 2x par 64s (probably best to have the 500w version)

2x dimmer packs

2x par 56 floor cans for either side of the drum kit.

4 iColors, 2 on the floor, 2 on Tbars. They have a foot controller designed with bands in mind.
