Here's the dilemma.I have 4 Acme Barrel rovers on a stand + 2 Acme winners on the floor.I am also running 2 I Solution I rock's(all on DMX) and 2 Wildtech Junior lights.
For all gigs I have done so far,big and small, these light have been more than adequate.Yet, last week I did a gig in a large room (no larger than the others I have been in) and the lights were pretty naff. The room itself was not very bright and so we thought it would be great.
My concern is why this should be and what I may have to do to improve the situation for future gigs of this type

Any advice would be grately appreciated

Can't really understand why there's not enough light? Scanners and barrels don't give off loads of light, but should be more than sufficient when you have 6 of them.

You could always try gobo flower type effects which will give you more light in a concentrated area, or perhaps normal par cans.

Yeah I'd agree with that, get 2 Datamoons or similar, you can then fill the floor with these and let the scans and barrels do their thing.

Also if you are running late & don't have much time to set up you can get the sound, warm-up playlist & stand alone datamoons up and running first, this gives an instant show & gives you a bit of time to get everything else sorted. :)

I think they look better on stands pointing down on to the dance floor, maybe with the beams crossing each other.

You can set them so the beams turn in different directions to each other, looks really effective.

Good thing with goboflowers is they are relatively small so can be fitted either hung under or on top of a T-bar, lets you put more lights on your stands.

I wouldnt worry too much I too have noticed this some venues just really seem to suit your rig and some dont ..... I did a marquee 2 weeks ago and stepped back when all set up and ready and thought wow that looks really awesome very classy and is doing just what i want the show to do.

then other times its set up exactly the same and i think .... that doesnt look quite right or that looks wrong or it looks a bit bright/busy or a bit dark.

you have more than enough lighting by the looks of it i only use 3 ishows 4 dynamos and 2 movers in a school sports hall i do regularly.

as said ..... in my opinion you do think mmmm its just not quite right tonight sometimes.
