i cant understand why they do it or why people buy it. after all digital downloads now are at the same price as an old 45 used to be 20 odd years ago. in relative terms very cheap.

Yeah, but I'm not sure the PPL are the one's to deal with piracy, hence my link to BPI.

Because if they are he must be a seriously benevolent chappie...

Let's be generous and say £0.79 per track * 50,000 = £39,500 worth of music plus maybe a grand's worth of software....

.... selling for £250 mmmmmmm.....??

And he's selling more than one?

And that's assuming his download licence allows him to sell them on, which it won't. If the tracks are DRM'd (which they're likely to be if legit) then they won't work on the next computer the drive is attached to.

Any more reasons anyone?

because most of these are put on dvd as the disc space is much bigger than a cd so you type in music dvd and naturally music stored on dvd comes up :D

Hi All,

Just a quickie while we're on this subject.

All my CD's are now (finally) in MP3 format and on my hard drive (labour of love but I'm assured it's the way forward!!)....well, actually they're on 2 hard drives as I use 2 laptops with a 'proper' mixer.

Where do I stand on this legally as you've got me concerned :confused:

I think you need a digital licence to store the tracks on a laptop to play live.
