That phrase is very over-used and unoriginal, and apart from that, how do they KNOW they are the best? If you say you're the best and someone asks you to PROVE it, you're stuffed!

Anyone or anything that claims to be "number one" when unsubstantiatable. And on what basis are you number one? Most website hits? Most gigs? Most hate-mail?

Nor am I now, but I was a fair few years ago and take my word for it, it was bland. Stella Artois - that's a proper lager, if I did have to drink one.

I always thought Stella Artois was a beer, it's certainly stronger than your average lager! I think all lager is bland, if you're comparing it to beers and ales. Doesn't stop me drinking the old Tennents though! :beerchug:

Stella is a beer. It is catergorised as a premium lager at 5.2 abv.

Beer is catergorised into lager, bitter, stout and perry. And yes, generally you're right, lager is generally bland, epecially compared to keg and cask ales.

I did a few exams years ago, hence my bit of knowledge. ;)

More of a Kronenbourg man myself if drinking beer/larger or if it's bitter/ale got to be something like a pint of London Pride, E.S.B (extra special Bitter) or Brew XI

Very true and giving the barrel a tap or 2 or kick could result it it having to settle for 24 hours again! Used to hate changing Casks back in the days when i was a barman... Loved having to taste them to make sure it was ready to serve though... :cool:
