hmmm been thinking about a new logo for a long time as the original was thrown together for the website a long time ago....

It's been narrowed down to 2 out of the ones created so far and i've been trying the logos out on various bits and bobs but still not sure if i like the new or old...

So over to the great people of MDD - which do you think is better and why?

If you don't like either say you don't like either but please try and give some sort of reason...

and if you think you can do better too please feel free to give it a go :D

The first one is nice, but the main text and UK background are a not contrasted enough, I would say, they are in the way of each other. The second one is a bit slicker, but I would reconsider the font, and maybe angle the text so that the oval border doesn't overlap it? Or even tilt the oval the other way (sloping down from the left), so that you can have 'visual services' under and to the right of 'professional audio' - and hence parallel to the slope of the oval :)

The second one, but I agree with beerfunk - I think you should straighten the oval border so the text doesnt go through it, but is completely inside it.

personally like the oval as it is then its not just a name in a ring adds a bit of dimension as it is imo.

The second one for me - looks more corporate James and knowing the kind of market you are aiming at, I reckon that's the one.

Reason:

I like it more. :p

The oval type design is very over-used in the design world...but it's definitely the best of the two.

Cool cheers guys...

Did have concerns about the union jack background being taken the wrong way.... and interesting that someone else thinks that too....

Cheers for the replies guys looks like the oval is staying then... And yep with any luck it will help with my challenge to break into the more corporate stuff.

Second one is much more professional looking, I'd try the 'JAMES H' bit in a slightly 3D format, think it would lift it out a bit from the ring.

I think the ring looks perfect at the angle it is.

Like the logo a lot! :)

IMHO first one seems a bit Tony Blair, Cool Brittania, Spice Girls style. :D

Not that I got anything against any of these things, just a bit 90's! :)

It's better than the first?

The first one is too "busy". And it's got a Union Jack in it :)
