1. outgoing personality , varied music knowledge , customer service skills , communication skills , listening skills , patience, vast music collection spanning manyy genres, reliable equipment and the knowledge to use it with good effect to name a few

2. admin, checking of equipment , thinking of ways to expand / improve , networking with fellow professionals

4. 25 ish maybe more

5. safety certificates and constant checking of kit and resources and great care to ensure safety of clients , however no thoughts for my own personal safety as i really do believe that i am infact related to superman and if i did take this into account id have to not be a dj.

1. What are the requirements to being a DJ? "A good personality and an ability to read a crowd, good sense of rhythm and a wide range of musical tatse"

2. What do you do when you are not required to DJ, for example, run the
business? "Administrate the business, take telephone bookings, check and update mudsoc collection and equiptment. I also work for the MOD now"

3. Is your job full time or part time? "Both to be honest, some weeks i can put 40 hours into it as well as my own 37 hr job during the day, othertimes it can be as little as 10 hours"

5. How do you take into account Health And Safety? "I undertake a risk assesment at every gig and am in the middle of creating a COSSH record, which includes material safety data sheets (MSDS) of cleaning fluids, smoke fluids etc that gives me correct information on what to do should fluid enter the eye's, or penetrates broken skin etc, they also allow me to know what risks they hold as well as how they are correctly stored. I also have an up to date PAT record to ensure that electrical equiptment is safe to use, i also do visual checks as well."

6. What are the qualities that you need for your job? "Please see answer to question 1, however being pc literate also helps for the administration of the company, depending also on the roles your willing to undertake as accountacy experiance may save you money in the long term"

7. Did you need any qualifications? "No, unless of course you undertake specialist administartion roles as previously discussed"

Considering this person is studying at A level Performing Arts, you would have thought that they had a bit of intuition.
These would be my replies. Lets face it if they challenged your answer, you could always say "well why ask the question if you know the answer!!:-

1.What are the requirements to being a DJ?
To play music nobody listens too, Talk like DJ Peter Kay on the John Smiths advert and make sure everyone stops in there seats as long as possible!!!

2. What do you do when you are not required to DJ, for example, run the
business?
Same as you do when your not studying!! Get leathered and enjoy myself on my nights off!!!

3. Is your job full time or part time?
Music is my life....... not 9 till 5

4.On average, how many hours a week do you work?
On average I work every hour of the week, because I am allways listening out for new material and tech info.

5. How do you take into account Health And Safety?
Do I *!*!*!*, I let everyone roam around and trip over my expensive gear and sue me for the privliage!!! What do you think!?!?!

6. What are the qualities that you need for your job?
If you were hiring a DJ what would you expect??

7. Did you need any qualifications?
It depends... The equipment is very expensive.
If you mum and dad are going to buy the gear then no you dont.
If you intend on buying the equipment yourself, get every qualification you can get you gready little hands on!!!!!!!!!!!
