Guys,

As you've probably read on a previous thread I was contemplating putting my karaoke stuff on to pckj.

Well I downloaded it, installed it etc etc but can i get it to rip the cdgs so that come out as cdgs (if you get my drift) they rip as normal music without the graphics.

Yes , I am ticking the create cdg box and have made numerous phonecalls to pcdj land. They said to use audio grabber which I have but still only music no words!

Anyone who can shed somelight please feel free to do so.

Was hoping to use it on saturday but it looks like im back to the disc player!

I dont use audio grabber as I cant get it work either, have you tried cdrwin it was by goldenhawk, think theres still links for it somehwere on the net.

cdrwin is ok but its a cd burning package rather than a ripper so it can be a pain to get it to work and it only supports certain hardware for karaoke.

trying not to sound extremely but have downloaded as suggested , do I now rip it via that or just rip it via the kj player?

havent done this for a while so......

If i remember correctly you browse to the CD drive with your CDG disc in it , select all the files the right click and select MP3+G toolz .net 4

that will open the main program window i suggest selecting option and making sure auto rename zip files is ticked, once that is done click ok for the options.

Select what format you want to convert from / to i.e audio CD + G to ZIP and away you go :)

Nah, have failed miserably.

Been trying to sort this for last 3 hours am giving up for today!

Try using Power Karaoke CDG ripper & Burner. Its really good, but you need to buy it. Its not dear.

I can really recommend it. Otherwise there is a work-around with Nero if you have it, but its long and drawn out.

As a follow up to the above, spoke again with HQ pcdj today and im going to see them on tues afternoon (17th) and they're going to sort it out for me!

Before anyone goes "that's along trip from Belfast" i was going over anyway to see a man about a dog so can combine it all together.

Will let you know how it goes.

Daft but i take it your drive supports cdg in ur pc / laptop, Use nero info tool to find out

As far as I know it does but am begining to think not!

Do you have nero if so find it, I think it doesnt

This is what pcdj should have checked, One reason i am not keen on them to more, there not upto much in tech support dept

However there is only one CD Drive that is all things to all men and that is a Plextor:)

I second that. I have plextor both inbuilt and external. You also get Plextor tools professional with this drive, which allows you to rip and burn cdg's.

OK, today I have returned from pcdj land and all is well!

I spent 3 hrs there yesterday afternoon and ended up going back to collect my laptop today.

The bottom line was that my IBM thinkpad wasn't compatible with cdg's unfortunately due to the IBM being a non standard thickness of cd drive I had to go for an external re-writer that actually is now a dvd re-writer. The pcdj blue that was supplied had a software error so this was also sorted by the guys in Hull.

After all the dramas of last week it's all sorted now and will become my main karaoke player and also back up for my decks.

As usual the forum was a great help, cheers guys.
