Dunno, haven't seen it, just read about it & seen one clip of a song from it. I just thought of it whilst replying to one of the word association threads.

I remember going to the Flicks to see it when it first came out - memory says it was quite good- however it was a while ago! My memory told me that Car wash was a good film- but having seen it recently, it was drivel!

Being a DJ at the time of Glam Rock I would say GG OR Bowie were the tops
Maybe Theo thinks differently?
No didnt know about this--just play the music and keep remembering all those football scarves being waved around

Seems everyone missed the point with my yobbo comment, Slade were most definately the loutish element in Glam.

This was actually a very good film, quite gritty and not far fetched. Well worth seeing.

Yeah Chuck is a bit of an acquired taste--the backing band didnt do him any favours --had to go to bed then --past my bedtime:D

He was good, but the band was a bit limp to say the least.

I didn't see the programme, and I'm no expert, but wasn't it often the case, particularly later in his career, that he would turn up shortly before the off, issue perfunctory instructions to a band he may have never seen before, and off we go?

Yes, but most people knew all his numbers because they were so popular--so getting any old band was easy--and cheap!
My friend who is a rock n roll drummer agreed with me that the backing drummer was particularly wooden last night--it was so bad Chuck was bashing one of his cymbals half way through a number indicating to the drummer he should be using it:D :D :D
Apparently one of the best Chuck Berry moments is when his " backing band" included Keef Richards from the Stones.
Allegedly Chuck accused Keef of playing out of tune--and vice versa---the language was xxx rated :D
Wadya mean im out of tune man
Brilliant!

Bloody Laptop!!!
Laptop--how does that affect things--
Verdict--Not much kop really:eek:
They had Rosko on--but the sound was so bad couldnt hear anything.
Good job Noddy Holders voice can cut though anything--dont remember that slide guitar he was using:confused:
Bit like Neil Diamonds Jazz Singer--weak storyline--ok if you like the artists.
TOTP 1978 was much better.

Dodgy keys, I typed 8:30pm, but the :30 didn't register.

I'm not so sure about that:
The Smurfs, Brian & Michael, Brighouse Brass Band, etc... etc.....
The film was watchable, but from what I'd heard I thought it would be better.
