I believe they send you a cheque for whatever you ask for, and they ask you to pay some money into an untraceable account (normally they say it is for the caterer, and they say they can't get the money to the caterer directly for whatever reasons, so they give you your cut and the caterer's, and ask you to send the caterer's cut on). The cheque that they sent you will bounce, but I believe it seems as though it has cleared initially.
