I would like to make a 2 large vu meters,

But how would i get the vu meter box of tricks ? is there a kit

Want them about a meter high

Shame, i saw 2 VU lightboxes on ebay last week. They were towers with 4 bulbs in 2 x green 1 x yellow and 1 x red with clear perspex covers. Sounds just like what you are after.

Do you want them to respond like a real VU meter or just to flash like a lightbox but look like a VU ?

Seen them working they look really good, just like a giant VU meter. The video doesn't look that good but the effect does,

respond just like a vu meter, Damm i missed em, Surely some tech guru could tell me how to do it

I have tony but looking to make something cheaper if possible and to custom size for transport reasons

Images used to do a screen that looked & acted like a 5 band VU, don't think it's available anymore

How long ago steve ?

If that kit on ebay can drive leds there must be a way of doing it to drive 40w bulbs or the like

Modify it to use Triacs!!
