Firstly, I don't think there is such as word. I believe that the word entertainment is used for plural as well as singular...a bit like "sheep" or "fish".

Secondly, glad you had a good time with Mr Mayhem.

Mayhem does appear to be the king of childrens entertainments. He provides more than one sort of entertainment: music, dancing, games, comedy etc. ; so it is entertainments plural.

If a dinner dance was having a DJ, a singer & a comedian, you would say "For the entertainment, we've booked a DJ, a singer & a comedian"

...and not "For the entertainments, we've booked a DJ, a singer & a comedian"

I am also unsure of the plural for 'entertainment', I suspect it is still just 'entertainment', but I can't find any hard evidence for either case. The term 'Entertainments' is widely used and accepted, as are many other terms which aren't officially correct usage of the English language, so it really doesn't matter whether it is correct or not!

Why would it be "entertainments" for multiple events, locations or dates but NOT for multiple performers? (especially if they are each providing a different type of entertainment).

It's still plural rather than singular...which is the point you originally made.

Because though involving three folks, it's only one entertainment. They could have been booked by the entertainments official, who deals with the plural entertainments.
