I am looking a re-vamping my sound but to do that I have to sell bit's off.
Qustion is which ones -

These are the speakers I use at the moment. My plan is -
Sell one pair with an amp - I am looking to then make a couple of bass bins and buy a pair of Makies SRM350....but to get the Makies I need to sell off some bits.

I like the Warrior's (first speakers i got) but i also like the Class-d....the tops are wicked IMO...you can really hear them.

In an ideal world....i would like to keep them all....but space becomes an issue.....plus i would have bad concusion from the MD hitting me over the head...:p :p

So out of the two listed speakers which would you get rid of....?

Heard them with Dave a few weeks ago....just love the sound and the fact you don't have to lump amps about...they weighed about the same as my Warriors - maybe lighter - but used with a bass bin as well....great sound!!:)

Mine sound fine....but the Makies were really crisp.

Stange how i now go into places or peoples houses and hear what they listen too......not saying i'm a pro at sound...just know what sound i want......:)

Hi mate, try EV. They have a great new range called Force i. What you want for that crisp clear sound with an amazing punch to it is a pair of EV Force i 15 and a pair of Force i subs. You are looking at here 1400 watts but my god you need to hear the system before you can really appreciate the power of it.
I have a pair of the force i 25 system which is a dual 15 inch 2 way 600w speaker which kicks out 1900 watts with the bins. You can pick up the 1400w system for around £900 or the 1900w system for around £1200 but you'll never need another speaker.

I would recomend getting a pair of mackie c300z 's. More powerful than the 350's but would require and amp rather than self powered. I use a pair of them a lot and have no problems up to 100 - 140 people add subs and doubles the amount of people. Did a 280 people event the other day paie of mackies and a pair of peavey st's giving extra bass. No problems was on about 3/4 power most of the night didnt clip once.

From whats been said about Class d around here i would get rid of the warriors.

I've used both the Class Ds in the link & c300zs both with & without subs, the CD158 speakers hold their own against the Mackies plus subs with regard to how many people you can play to (they are a very bassy cab) In all 3 instances I used my regular rig powered by Yamaha P5000S (http://www.djdeals.com/yamahaP5000S.htm) amps (they have a built in crossover for use with subs) IMHO the Mackies sound shrill when used without subs & nowhere near bassy enough, not a problem with the Class Ds.

Don't forget the price on the Class D website is for a pair.

Steve I need a bit of convincing here. I am looking at the spec on these Class-D's, they are 94db 1w@1mtr and have piezo horns and yet you say they hold their own against the Mackies!

I'm not saying they don't sound as good as you suggest because I've never heard them, I'm just very suprised given the very low 94db specification and obvious lower grade components used.

I would really welcome some input as I am looking for something cheap for my nephew/roadie to take out now and again.

Don't forget the website price is not necessarily the price you will pay. If you catch them on a good, and or go to see them, ask for b grade/ex demo. They never sell any, just mark it as such. Can be a hefty discount. Well worth a phone call, absolute loonies, but clever helpful chaps.

My speakers are the 215's twin 15" plus HF, and I normally pull nearly all the bass off the mixer. Previously I always had it full on.

I'm sure you won't regret it, & if you do Class D will gladly take them back if you're not satisfied Paul (Thames Valley Discos) returned some of their JAC15s he wasn't happy with (personally I wouldn't go with the plastic ones, I don't think you get as rich a sound from Plastic cabs as from wood / Ply / Chipboard /MDF ones)

Must admit to coveting the 215s, how tall are they & would they take to top hat mounting?

Without measuring, I'd say approx chest high to top of cab, so 4ft ish. Quite tall and narrow, so I'd not recommend putting them on tripods, if that's what you mean. I am looking at putting top hats in one pair to stick my Peaveys on sometimes. My only niggle with them is if you are not on a stage, and the punters get round you, the top end disappears! Awesome bass though!

Amazingly, the subs I just bought, one 15" per cab passive crossover cost as much as a pair of these lads, two15" plus mid horn, plus 4tweeters! Baffling!:confused: If they were a little more wide around the bottom( stop it with the jokes already! :Naughty: ) it could have made sense to use these instead of real subs, as I now use x-over.

try studiomaster vx series i have 16 of them . never faultered once and are chrystal clear and the subs are identical to the tops but the power is tremendous (right studiomaster reps if your reading this can i have some spare bags now !!)

47" tall 18" wide 13" deep if that helps. Not weighed them, guess bit heavier than my eurosys 3's so approx 20-25kg.

The effiency of the class D,s is low compared to the mackies. Not saying they wont be as loud but will take more power to do it.

Might be interested in the amp as backup for mine. Sadly I am overrun with speakers just now. Plus I hate plastic!

if you can have a listen to the rcf 310a speakers
10" 350w powered and only jusk over 12kgs
i know people on here ar gonna say there will not be much bottom end but with an added sub or 2 they will be the dogs
i have the jbl eon 15g2 powered and i am thinking of getting the rcfs they knock my jbls out of the water and i think the mackies would be knocked out of the water as well
