When I first started looking at the possibility of moving to the UK and maybe DJing to earn some dosh one of the first things I did was do a spot of research on DJ companies in the Somerset region. On the keywords that I used www.surround-sounds.co.uk kept coming up so I contacted them about possibly working with/for them upon arrival. The owner, Mark Davies pointed me to his forum - *Link removed as per forum rules* - and suggested that posting there was as good a way as any for me to prove my credentials (i.e. talking the talk).

Well, said forum became a ghost-town not long after, so Corabar Steve who was a regular poster there, invited me over here (Thanks, Steve :beer1: ), and that's how I ended up here.

Anyway, when I got my website up I went back to Mark to discuss the possbility of swapping links and that sort of thing, to which he said that he leaves the web side of things up to his son (Ali) so I'd have to talk to him about such things. He went on to say that as a member of MDD I was probably going to be persona non grata as Ali had had a falling out with someone here.

After a very little bit if research I decided to let that sleeping dog lie.

Has anyone guessed?

We know Ali Davies as B-Boy Gnash  :bang:

I have spoken to Mark who is a nice guy---he was talking of me maybe doing gigs down his area---unfortunately its too far for me to travel.

No wonder his son knows a lot about Discos:D

Would you really want to be associated with anyone that could be so petty as to hold being a member of an internet forum against you?. I could see the point if it was you he'd personally had a grievance with. Maturity comes to all young men sooner or later. It appears to be later, much later in his case.

Ummm, yeah, I talked about swapping links BEFORE I found out all of this.

You're not wrong, Alan, he is a nice guy, but I doubt he and I will be talking again, I did suggest that maybe Ali shouldn't have been quite so rude to quite so many people.

The thing is, Mark / Scooby is actually a nice bloke. Can't help wondering where Ali gets it from.
