Moving Head bracket for stand mounting!

I have been using my four Staiville Moving Heads on their flight cases on the floor................I got sick of kids messing with them so tried out a new position tonight.

The results are awsome, I am shocked at how much better they look mounted on stands.

These stands are the Heavy Duty Speaker stands fron Maplins which come with a speaker bracket http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=3408&criteria=stands&doy=29m7

Going to get 2 more stands so I can get all four like it.

Really happy with them like this.

This setup if often used in professional applications. It does look good, although when the proper pro's do it, they use a verticle peice of truss with a flat top, the results are the same but I would consider some better stands if I were you.

Rated at 32kg if extended to 2mtrs. Moving heads are only 12kg and never go above 1.4mtrs so I have a 20kg margin at worst.

These are very stable & I've got no issues with them, mid tops are about 25kg on the same stands and I've never had any issues with these either. :)

Is sometimes do this with my moonflowers. Looks very good with moving heads though.

This is something i'm looking at doing, but undecided on the best method of a base plate. Would need to be pretty big and heavy :mad:

that would have saved me a few quid ............. just bought 2 new brackets for my moving heads as i misplaced the originals ............ £60 ......2 pieces of metal :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: got a couple of spare stands in the shed however.

How can you misplace a bracket for a moving head when they've been on a truss or bar!!? :confused: :D

they were floor mounted before but iwas going to fly all 4 of mine as i bought 2 more but as it stands fly 2 and 2 go on the floor but i like this idea as it will stop them getting used as footballs but they will be lower than the bar :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

These cheap heads probably wont take pro mounting gear,i only use omega mounts so you can hang heads base up would want winch stands at least 4m but the effect is very good for regular disco work as all ways nice lighting Tony
