Hi all,
Has anyone known wharfedale cabs to be 300wattsRMS at with a 12' cone.

I have been looking for the EVP 15 which would be 300 watts RMS with 15', but have found the 12' for a cheap price.

I have been assured that they are 300watts RMS but cannot find any other speakers that are the same.

What do you all think????

The EVP s12 has a music program power of 300w and an RMS of 150w.

Some people quote the music programme power as an RMS rating, this is a rating that can be understood in real world terms, it assumes a dynamic signal, peaks and troughs that you get with music . This power is about what you should put into your speakers with a standard music programme material.

The RMS value is always lower than this because the RMS is worked out using a constant signal via a noise generator, with no peaks and troughs, at at a specific frequency.

The peak rating is just as the name suggests, it's the absolute power the speaker can take as a peak only.

The evp-x series does have a 250w rms 12" speaker but I dony know of a 300w rms 12" version from Wharfdale. :)

Never seen a 12 foot cone on anything, personally. Bet they'd be heavy.

12:30 actually, and that was because I'd had very little sleep the night before as I was out working. So nah!

Wharfedale sound pretty good. Have heard them before in the past. I have also used some (which i hired out) a while ago.

Good cabs for the money and for the same price range roundabout they sound better than the peaveys.

Agreed, great sound for the money.

Wharfdale always have excellent clarity in the Mid band and awsome HF Horns, very very clean.

I find they lack a bit of bass which is obviously no problem if run with subs. :)
