Oh happy days!

My Sk:Censored: ech speakers and amps have gone and my SRM450's have arrived and I couldn't be happier (unless something unexpected involving Kelly Brook occured).

My business name is on it's way to being registered, my phoneline is set up and I have a couple of gigs in the diary already.

Just to be clear, I've been Dj'ing for a few years but more as a hobby / bit of extra cash so haven't bothered with these things before.

My business cards are on order, my signwriters coming next week so....happy days!

HOWEVER  ... I still have a rubbish stand arrangement and am really struggling to justify spending massive amounts on a Ultimax one with all the accessories to mount my 2 laptops etc.

Can anyone tell me if they use Giraffe ones and what experiences they've had or am I better to bite the bulett and spend the extra getting a full-spec Ultimax one (I am totally digital and my lights are all lightweight...dynamo's etc).

Thanks for your advce and sorry to ramble!!

This has been covered several times if you have a look around the forum.

What's the difference in price between the Giraffe and the Ultimax?

About £179 for the Ultimax

and

£100 for the Giraffe.

I suppose, compared to the £000's I've spent lately, it's not really worth worrying about!

If you have a search of the forums, the general concencus is that Ultimax are sturdier, last longer and are worth spending the extra on.

Ultimax is by far the better option. All the parts are sold seperatley too, so if you do happen to break or lose an individual piece you can replace. There is then the numerous options of accessories you have to chose from for them too!

There was still one left after I cleared them out, would've had that too if I'd thought it would fit in Lee's car :sj:

Seriously though, if you need to fit a laptop on it too, why not get the 6 footer?

The giraffe parts are also all available from the giraffe website if you need spares. I use oen and find it very sturdy. My decks console weighs in at 40 kilos and it sits in the middle of the beam without any bending etc.
