DMX controller recomendation

Been looking to get a dmx controller to manually create programs for my 8 dmx lights. (4 dynamo's 2 source celebrations and 2 dynarocks)
Money is a bit of a problem so have been looking at the transcension dmx baby I have found one for £90 new and as it has a joystick (another one of my wants in a controller) it seems ideal. Can also program via PC and then save to memory card so dont have to have lights plugged in to program it.
Any one else use this console or can recomend another controller please feel free to let me know.
Hoping to slow down my effects as they seem to go to fast for some occasions.

I have its baby brother, which is the same but doesn't have the joystick, and its fairly easy to pick up how to use it.

I'd also recomend trying the PC-DMX route. I use Freestyler ( http://users.pandora.be/freestylerdmx/ ) along with the enttec dongle ( http://www.enttec.com/index.php?main_menu=Products&prod=70303&show=description&name=opendmxusb ) and its way more powerful than budget hardware controllers, plus it has a visualiser, so you can program all your shows without getting all the lights out!

Pc-dmx route is out as I dont use a pc for disco's and I dont really want the hassle of having a laptop with me etc. Just a dedicated controller would suit me fine.

Quite liking the stairville dmx master that was suggested anyone else use one?

I do.

Takes a couple of hours to get your head round the terminology if you're new to DMX, but I use mine to control a pair of moving heads, a set of 4 dynamos, two datamoons, two spinmaster 3's and a haze machine :o

I used to use it before I went over to freestyler fulltime.

Easy enough to get to grips with, but ends up being rather limited..
