DJ virgin

My names Sandy....and I'm fairly new to this game....only been DJing this year.

Its my main occupation.....basicallly I liked the idea of working mainly weekends and kicking my heels all week. I'm dead proud of my rig....i have a cortex which i'm madly in love with.....so running from hard drive, i-pod and laptop. I also have karaoke .....all on hard drive.

Who needs a gym when you have a mobile disco! Been told i'm starting to look like Olive Oil on steroids (scary thought eh)

I'm on a very steep learning curve....so hope to be picking a few brains!

hey....drop in for a coffee. Haven't had any glitches yet with the cortex.....but have had a few problems with the i-pod, so i now carry an identical back up.....and I can work between the laptop and i-pod anyway......now you've scared me....what kind of glitches could i expect?

BTW....not been operating here long cus I was DJing in Cornwall.....so a few local contacts would be great.

The only Cortex glitches are normally self inflicted--as we have found out--so no its not surprising you havent had a problem.

One or two people have rubbished the unit but those who have it on this forum seem to get on fine--it doesnt have the same sophistication as some others like Denon--but then some us are---unsophisticated in our needs:D

As I specialise in Country Music and Middle of the Road stuff its ok for me.

My only problem is it doesnt read apostrophes---so the O' Jays are hard to find--I believe there are some other similar reading problems--I havent had a problem myself though.

yep....I've had reading probs....but if in doubt i search on the laptop or search by artist/song.....or just miss the word out with the apostrophe!!! Searching is bit of an exact science with the cortex
