Cheap IEC connectors

Not sure if this is the bargain I think it is, but always worth sharing a deal isn't it.

Just bought a number of IEC plugs and sockets and having been used to paying over £1 each for them, have found a company who supply with no minimum order:

IEC Plugs - 45p each
IEC sockets - 53p each

Sorry, these are in-line

There is a delivery charge of £4.50, but even so this was a lot cheaper for me

That's quite cheap... but are they any good?

I've been buying these at 98p each (http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/search/productdetail.jsp?SKU=1283812) and these at £2.96 (http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/search/productdetail.jsp?SKU=1286430) and b'stardising them to suit. Much cheaper and quicker than buying plugs and cable and spending time wiring them up.

Both show out-of-stock but I've had a 3-day turnaround before now.

I used to get my iec male and female from CPC but they are rubbish to wire with just a screw to wind the wire round really need soldering , so now use the pro ones from Adam Hall which are just like wiring a 13amp plug but there not cheap.

If you take the screw out of the connector you insert wire into the hole and solder direct. It works a treat. Seems a good deal can you post link plz always worth having a few spare lying around.

I found that on the cheaper ones, after several times of plugging them in, they start to wear down inside and the Live and neutral pins start to slide back into the case when trying to plug them in so it doesnt always make contact. Its the same with everything else, you really do get what you pay for.
