Okay,
So you guys helped me out with installing my ex hard drive and formatting it, I hope you can help now.

It shows up in device manager but no longer in the manage section of "my computer", however I did format it from there a while back.

In device manager it tells me that there is no drivers installed for it, so I tried to uninstall and re-install the EX HD, but everytime I restart the PC it still shows up in device manager.

The computer would also freeze while the EX HD was connected via usb, but when removed the pc returns to normal.

Can you help please, would be much appreciated. :bang:

Does it work on other PCs? Sounds like a duff drive to me.

Does it appear in Disk Management (control panel>admin tools>computer management) at all? Steve had a problem like this, and I don't believe anyone could get to the bottom of it?

Have you tried it in a different port. I had similar problems recently with a USB port

Hi
Have yet to try it on another PC as I have to borrow a friends.
Tried all usb ports, it's definitely recognised in device manager but not in computer management.
I'm :bang: because I was able to access and format it from there before. I'm not sure of the make as a local PC guy build it for me. INSIXT is the name of the enclosure.

Problem solved and I feel a right moby.
Don't use the hard drive through a usb hub, that was my problem.
And when I say I tried different ports it was with the hub.
Having a blonde day.
Thanks for your help.

Try a powered hub if you have to use one, that should fix your problem, I would have thought.
