I wouldn't bother - I'd go on holiday :) £5k would buy a load of beer!

Seriously though, I would in vest in a van I reckon and some nice compact but effective lights. My sound is already very good with my Mackies.

I would probably also move over to hard drive MP3's instead of CD's - I will do this eventually but want to ensure it's justifiable to the ammount of work I get.

I would purchase some new RCF speakers about 2k per side, nice. Or I may look at buying some moving head lights.

That's why I'd get any popular gear first before selling it.

Obviously, if the thread asked what you'd do if you won £5,000 - then I'd put the whole lot straight into my retirement fund!

We pretty much all know what we'd have despite the comments - for me 5k would fully equip me over again for the jobs I do with a fine PA system and quality lights to match along with everything cased and racked and finally a new laptop and software for playback.

I'd also then be able to install everything I currently own into my resident place to make life easier there too.

See a few of you have mentioned the DNX 500 and also the HD 2500, came across this link today http://www.universalelectronix.com anyone used it? its got very cheap prices! I guess its imports, but £190 for the DNX 500 :eek:

I have the X500 Its a good mixer. Personally i wouldnt trust them myself but thats just me.
