Just wondering this point and dont know if anyone has the answer.

I work a venue on a friday where i use mainly their own installed equipment with the exception of my mixer and laptop everything belongs to the venue speakers , amps lights the whole lot. In the event of something dire happening while i am working where does the liabilityu sit with me as the DJ or with the venue as its their kit?

I have full PLI cover on myself and my gear just wondering if the venue have to have something similar for their own or am i left holding the bag.

It depends who is responsible for whatever happens. The venue should have their own PL to cover their acts of negligence and your PL will cover you for your acts of negligence. In a case where both parties were considered negligent, then a claim could be made against both for contributory negligence.

For example, if you run a lead across the floor and someone tripped over it, then you would be liable. If the venue done it then they would be liable. If the venue told you to do it and you done it yourself, they would be negligent for telling you to do it and you would be negligent for actually doing it so a claim could be made against both.
