OK. I have a vauxhall corsa 1.2i with an induction kit (sound like i have a big bore exhaust pipe on but compleatly standard). I listen to heavy metal but on the odd occasion i put on some r 'n' b for my girlfriend when im taking her home. Now as i drive i like to have music loud as i enjoy it more. We were driving past bunch of chavs in there saxo with about 5 people in the car. At the lights they begin to rev there engine and want a race. I ignor them as im not intrested. So they turn up there music. I said " if had enough of this" so i put on some heavy metal and turn it right up with out distortion. and yes i have uprated speakers and a sub. so now im playing very loud metal music with my window down. girlfriend is very embarrased and sitting back in seat. they rev a little more. this really got me fired up. so now i begin to get ready for the lights and when they turn green im already gone because

a. its only me and my girlfriend on my car and not my whole "crew"

&

b. i have a bigger engine than them

so ovcourse i won and beat them. but still i hate chavs when they try and think there the big it and egg you on to do stuff you dont want to do.

Has anyone else had any experaince like this???

Also just to note that i dont race. Sticking to the speed limits ovcourse. I want to keep my licence and keep no points on my licence.

It does help putting the right fuel in....saves on all the visit's to the garage to flush the engine out......:p :p :p

hahaha. very funny. :p . i mean if i use supermarket fuel its slow and sluggish but if i use a more expensive fuel like shell or bp then it give it a bit more poke and feels better to drive but i cant afford it all the time.

Sorry, but you sound very immature for someone of 19.

They have a Saxo, so they are chavs, and you have a Corsa with an induction kit (whatever that is) and you are not??

You say you don't race and yet you've just said that "you won 'cos you had a bigger engine"

Bigger engines and louder music? Who cares.

My van will out accelerate virtually any Chavmobile even with a load on. I can't compete on the sound system stakes (the British Transport Police didn't think to install one before they sold it. They did take out the other noisy things & flashing lights! Killjoys!), I've only got a portable DAB radio in there at the moment.

Chavs don't tend to want to race a white van driven by a "Hell's Angel" (in their eyes anyway, all bikers are Hell's Angels as far as about 70% of the population are concerned, ignorance is bliss :sj:)

That reminds me last night I saw a Corsa in a head on with a Smart car, & a gang of Chavs arguing with some for want of a better phrase "Hooray Henrys", obviously about who's fault it was (quite how they fitted 4 rugby players in there in the first place I don't know, unless they were in the Corsa).

I couldn't resist, & it sounds cruel now, but as my window was wound down anyway & nobody appeared hurt I yelled out. "Ha Ha Ha! Not so :Censored: smart now is it?" & drove off. :sj:

Don't ya just hate people like me? :sj: :sj:

You say you don't race and yet you've just said that "you won 'cos you had a bigger engine"

Bigger engines and louder music? Who cares.

an induction kit is bassically a bigger air filter to allow more air into the engine thus more petrol which increase bhp (more power)

chavs dont give much for care about anything on the road and like to keeps there mods as cheap as possible which means there cars look even worse than before they got it.

people like me who mod there cars for increased performance but stick to the rules of the road are car enthusiasts. they care for there car and wouldnt want anything happen to it in a crash ect.

where i live its 95% chav and the word chav originated from my hometown of chatham. its hard to act normal because you step out your door and there everywhere. theres a webite called www.chavscum.co.uk .Have a look for your self.

music for me is a passion. where ever i goi must have only the best in audio clarity, which i use for my disco's. i have to have a pefect balance of high, mid and low otherwise i cant listen to it.

chav cars are saxo, corsa, pug 106. bassically any small car but i dont see why i am classed as a chav because i drive a 5 door corsa.

the thing is that i dont race at all. ovcouse i would of won because i had a lighter car.

i dont care at all but rond here you have to be the fastest or have the best car. i couldnt give a **** what people drive. my car suits me fine. it gets me from a to b, i can just about fit my whole dj rig in there and touch wood it has never broken down on me even though its coming to to 100,000 on the clock.

i only class racing if you go over the speed limit and then thats speeding. all i did was quickly acclerated up to 40mph (which was the speed limit) then stayed there. cops cant stop you for that. as long as you stay under the speed limit then there nothing you can do. they can try for reckless driving but i wasnt causing a danger to anyone.

right. i passed my driving test october last year and my mums friend was selling one for £500. its better than not having a car and got it down to £450 as i had to get 4 new tires.

to be honest i dont know either. around here if you have one then your a chav even thou i wear black  (not all the time mind you).

i am in the process of getting a loan to buy more dj gear as well as a new car. as soon as i get this new car then i will feel happy because i know i dont even have to try because i know i have more power. and i can drive at my own pace and no one elses

Some words for you to look up.

New Driver Act. (6 points within 2 years of passing your test & you get your L plates back again)

Racing On The Public Highway (instant ban).

I do enjoy chavs trying it on when I'm 'off duty' though, I have to admit.

Driving my wife's car, we have no sub, no induction kit and no big bore exhaust.

We do have a pro install CD system which rattles all the windows if we want it to.

And a very small sticker on each side of the car which the chavs can't really see.

It says 'Turbo'. (as in: Jap Import MR2 turbo).

Nothing like seeing a car full of chavs disappearing very rapidly behind you - with Pantera floating gently on the breeze in your wake - to brighten your day. Get yourself an import and go 'Stealth', my young Paduan.

i dont think any import car could fit a whole dj rig in. i was thinking of getting a diesel but if i ever want to increase the engine (for track use only as my friend is a mechanic and is always at track days with his mr2 turbo).

Have to say I agree here (I'm getting into a habit of agreeing with Darren, he must be getting wiser! ;))

Sorry Tom, but I think you're contradicting yourself here. You say you're not interested and you're not a chav, but then what have the other group done that you haven't (apart from initiating the 'contest').

It seems to me that you made this thread to tell everyone how you 'won'

Around a month ago, I was overtaken on an uphill stretch by a young chap beating the life out of his renault clio engine. I couldn't have cared less, as I was listening to music and he wasn't worth any attention from me. He took a fair while to pass me though, and after spotting an oncoming car, I realised he was never going to make it! He didn't want to pull back though, must have been pride, so I had no choice but to brake - allowing him to slip in front of me before he had a nasty collision.

I hope he will learn from that embarrassing experience, although I suspect he won't!

because i dont want to discuss about it no more. seems like everyone is ganging up on me. all i was trying to do was give opinion and ask if anyone else has had a simler event but it dont seem that way. if i wanted to be ganged up on all i have to do is walk down the road and give em some abuse (chavs) and bobs your uncle. job done. i didnt expect it on here. :(

No-one was 'ganging up' on you, everyone has their own opinions here, that's the whole point of the forums. You can't expect to make a thread and have everyone agree with you.

Also, I actually posted of a related experience.

Have seen my fair share of Boy racers and chavs its just another posing phase of the youth, lets face it in days of old it was the mods vs rockers now things have changed and more sections have appeared......

punks, new romantics, goths, chavs etc etc just to name a few all get cars some are just smug enuff to just drive around and around all night like they have nowt better to do. Racing happens between all the different factions but most are soon of the road once they are booked by the law and restricted to plates again LOL
