OK I want to put a sound recording of myself on You tube TO PROMOTE MY SERVICES.

Presently its in MP3.

How do I change the format so it can be uploaded to the tube?

Apparently acceptable formats are--video files from most digital cameras, camcorders, and cell phones in the .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG file formats.

I tried and failed with Nero---perhaps its just me:(

thanks guys

Do you have XP or Vista? Use Movie Maker. Drag your MP3 onto the 'Audio' timeline and fill the 'Video' timeline with a selection of 'Titles' to give the viewer something to look at? When you're done you can "Publish" the file as .avi or .wmv etc

That's right, you need graphics and audio to make a video file (as far as I know, there may be a way round this)

Nah... you can leave the video bit empty and it'll just output a blank screen when you play the .avi back. But surely if you're putting it up on youtube you should at least put up some text in place of the video?

There are sites around that offer free stock video footage, might be an idea to find something to go with the music anyway?

At this stage its not a vid clip of a gig--its just an MP3 of me explaining what I do--I have a CD but I want to be 2007---CANT SEEM TO GET THE mp3 ON TO MY WEBSITE OTHERWISE I WOULD DO THAT.

Bit different I thought for the Internet browser types that dont like talking much on the phone ;)

Yes you can add photo's. Just drag and drop it onto the video timeline then stretch it to the length you want it on screen. You can then add effects such as fade in & out etc.

Do a quick google on 'movie maker tutorial' - there's a few out there.
