just wondered which brand of lamps people found best in their effect lights.

Had a look in my spares box the other day and realised that a lamp order isnt far off as i am almost out of spares. I only use 2 types of lamp the a1231's for the dynamos and a1253's for my other effects. Had a look on ebay and there are a variety of packs at varying prices from different brands and even unbranded lamps.

Just wondering which give the best results , the longets life and overall best value for money.

Osram and philips I think are considered to be pretty reliable. Good light output as well. Some unbranded are ok but you will have to get a recomendation from someone who uses a particular supplier as to which are better.

For me it has to be the Philips/Osram.If you check the technical help section we had a debate about this last week.Im sure that you will find all the answers that you are looking for there.;)

the unbranded arent so noticeable in power output in the 100w dynamos although the pins do tend to snap when removing blown bulbs, but the 250w unbranded are so dim its unbelievable stick with phillips or osram for the 250w effects

I found this site a while ago and book marked it incase I needed bulbs in the future. http://www.aksents.co.uk/HPbulbs.shtml
Seem good bulbs for the money.

I use them and they appear to last for ages.

i dont like philips bulbs. orsam are ok. i bought a new light and came a philips bulb. it only lasted 2 gigs. i use unbranded. so far they have lasted me about 9 gigs and counting.

Broadway are good.

Check for the usage.

I find that the Philips last the longest.
However, most of my lights are the longlasting type fitted to the EVL lamps.
