Hello

Im after a suplyer of Small active speakers i have seen them at an out door gig and i though they would be good for somthing like this! So i have been looking about and have found nothing! i need somthing about the size of the JBL Control 1s maybe a bit bigger! Any help?

Have a look at the W-audio PSR8a's They are a bit bigger than what you are looking for based on your comment regarding the control 1's but then they are more powerful too - still only 8" drivers though so should give you an idea of size.... Very nicely priced too.

I've used them on outdoor PA gigs too and they work really well...

rcf 310a are reconed to be the best around at the moment 10" 350w rms powered and about 12kg

Carlsbro Gamma 8's - absolutely superb. 150 watt a side, actuve and sound sweet as a nut!

Been using them for wedding speaches. ONly problem is they don't have a stand mouting as such, but well worth the cash

Can they be mounted on the adapters that come with most stands?

I'm guessing you could screw these onto the rear of the speakers, have never tried but really haven't needed to stand mount just yet.

I owned a pair of Gamma 8's before the w-audio and there really isn't anything between them... If anything the PSR8's were better as they were lighter, had built in tophats and covers included with them that you don't have to take off to operate... Not to mention being cheaper!

I'd agree with the PSR8's. First time I saw one was at a meet James organised and liked the size. Then set them up at work to see what they sounded like, and was impressed. When I get round to it, I'll get a pair, always handy for smaller gigs, or even one as a monitor for bigger events.
