RCL speakers

I'm just after any general opinions on RCL speakers.

In particular, I'm looking at the PM12J 300 watt passive jobs.

Any info will be much appreciated.

I've had a pair of rcl 15'' speakers for 2 or so years and had no problems with them, they sounded great, and i only stopped using them because i got active speakers. I dont think PM12J's have the pole mount fittings.

I think they've recently added pole mount fittings, as the info I was reading said:

The cabinet size is: 422x390x636mm and is now fitted with a integral top hat.

As I think I mentioned on another thread, they are simply too large & heavy for an old man like me to carry!

Though I have on occasion extracted the Michael from you re carrying speakers etc, I recently picked up the 12" model of yours, and yes they are not as easy to carry with the teardrop handles!

On reflection, though if 15" Peaveys are too heavy, you're still a wuss !:p :D

I never pick mine up by the teardrops until I get them out of their cases inside the gig.

I believe the RCL are a budget copy of the Ohm RW3 series if my memory serves me correctly.

I've never heard anything bad about them, but then I haven't heard anything good either...

If you have the money HK Audio do a nice small setup. Loud as anything but its quite small. Its 900 watts rms for a 2.1 system and it costs £1.299. expensive but there really good stuff. have a look

I have a HK Audio system i would sell for the right price. (Lucas 1000) Dont want a real lot for it

But i would get some active mackie srm450s and sell your amplifiers and other speakers.

I'd sell it anyway. I've run one against my Class D & Yamaha rig & there was no contest.

Maybe not in wattage or loudness but in sound quality the HK is the better system. The lucas is a decent sound system.

i would say that mackie are now becoming industry standard but would it be nice if you wern't the same as everyone else??? :confused:

They are not in the same league Rob. They are not 'virtually the same speakers' at all. Warrior are a budget cab and are OK for what they are, but nothing more.

How many of my posts have mentioned starcloths?

If it's less than 34, that equates to less than 1% of my posts.....hardly enough to qualify it as something I "keep mentioning"!

Secondly, I'm aware of the Warriors being budget cabs, but as I said, despite this they are made in the EV factory and use exactly the same crossovers as the EV speakers themselves...not bad for a budget cab!

Agree with both comments.

Untill i change the look and sound i still take these modest cabs out and place them on the floor whenever possible.....give a great sound...not the best but good enough for me while the pennies start to mount up.

Total agree and it wasn't a dig.....:)
I've heard different gear and only now know where i want to got.

At the do last week end...the stage was 3' from the floor - perfect hieght for sound in the lugs.....but because the floor was old and the wood creaky...the bass rumbled out....terrible....luck i brought stands so placed one set on floor and the other on the stage on stands.....loverly.

take a listen to the rcf 310a actives i know people will say there only a 10 inch driver but with subs what a sound if you are going to plasa pop by the rcf stand and just have a listen

The Warrior cabs and the EV cabs dont even compare. Sorry but im telling the truth. Not saying there is anything wrong with them. I have heard the two cabs and the ev have a kit more higher clarity. The warrior cabs dont sound bad though.

The powered RCF cabs that flatliners said are good cabs.
