flightcases/bags for lighting effects

hi everyone

does anyone know where to buy flightcases for my lighting effects without breaking the bank?

is it possible to get all the lights in one big long flightcase? or would you have to buy indivdual ones for each specific light?

also as my budget is stretched enough would it be possible to buy flightbags for the lights?

my lighting consists of

2x geni wild blaze
2x geni xtc's
1x njd chaos
1x njd chaos 2
1x acme apocolypse

i really don't want to spend £100+ on a individual flightcase for each light so if you could give me some cheaper alternatives please guys

also, with the lighting i have what lights would you recommend i buy that would compliment the ones i already have, my budget for lights will be about £500,

i'm looking for something special i could use in my 'gold' package that will justify me charging more for the gold package

i:e the basic package will be a couple of geni xtc's & njd chaos and the 'gold package i could bring out my top end lighting, hope that makes sense.

i have another problem with noise from a laptop, but thats a different thread:bang:

I'm not familiar with most of your effects size wise but B+Q do a really good tough canvas bag with a thick flexible plastic base (like an inch thick) that holds the geni spinmaster series perfectly, and also holds a datamoon with assorted cables quite well for £15. That's if you can live with the pale blue colour! :D

The best thing to do is to measure your lights and then look for cheap cases that are made specifically for other effects.

Your lighting is similar to mine, i was using plastic crates like hays crates up until recently, http://www.solentplastics.co.uk/curtec%20nested%20crates.JPG, these will hold 2 geni's and another light,but acquired some rather nifty cardboard cases which carry comp epuipment, they are very strong, i have waterproofed them and painted them black, oh and put wheels on one of them, they stack and double up as cd case table behind my rig. They are about 1m by 1m by 60-70mm deep. I will try and get you a piccy, and i'll ask and see if i can get hold of a couple more cheap if you like, you're not a million miles away from me.

With the toolkits and those cheap nasty "aluminium" briefcase things that B+Q seem to have an abundance of.

Why not make one????? In a day i managed to make a flightcase out of wood for my 3m gantry that is way stronger than any other flightcase i have seen that would do the same job.

I just edged some 5mm ply with 2inch stripwood for each side, glue + screw and drop the base in plus a lid on hinges and padded it with 5cm sponge type stuff .....all for about £20

i was thinking about this too. make some boxes for my lights with foam lining so the lights wont get damaged. plus if they get damaged then its easy to repair or replace

It would look even better if you had proper cases or flightcases.

I don't understand how people spend hundreds, maybe thousands on equipment and then don't protect and case it properly.

& you know how long it's been since it last moved! Anyway that was from the days that I had a smaller van (which I could get my entire rig in with room to spare). I can now get 2 rigs (or one & 3 passengers) in my van so the trailer is a bit surplus at the moment, unless we do a really big gig.
