Colour up the ceiling!

Hi Folks
Can I have your ideas on a light to colour up the ceiling!

I like to throw some colours on the ceiling at discos and currently use 4 cheap gobo effects with a contoller but they sequence one at a time and they dont have a very wide throw.

Im looking for one or two wide range units that give a slow moving effect a bit like a mirror ball (please dont say mirror ball).
Ive seen the hedge hog type lights advertised, are these simular to what Im looking for ie slow wide enough?

May I suggest the old favourite A solar 250 Projector You can get many different rotating wheels for it

Personally, i hate any projection onto ceiling, unless it's a plain white job, with no beams or walls in the way of your "effects" output.

I would say you couldnt go far wrong with a mirror ball :D

I have used a Kam oil wheel 150 on the ceiling before with good results.

I use two Soundlab Venus lights that I point down either side of the ceiling. They revolve pretty slowly and are only a white light. I also point an Acme Falcon at the centre of the ceiling.

the Martin DC1 wash or DC2 flame effect are great for ceilings or curtain wash on stage behind the DJ.

I regularly point my Spyros as high as they will readily go so the light show is most noticeable playing across the ceiling and doesn't get in too many eyes - seems to work well.

In a similar vein, can anyone recommend a light that is not too bright but is made up of lots and lots of small moving/changing beams with quite good spread.

thats an idea. get somthing like 9 or 16 screen depending on size or somthing, make a strong perspex frame and top for people to dance on??? that could go down well. different.

ohh. ok. so someone has already done it and charges £1299.95 but why not make one for more then half the price and use it at disco's or something. I dont i have seen a DJ with this. All you need is a lorry aswell :p :rolleyes:
