I hope this is the right forum for this......

My dear old departed mum, god bless her, always said I was how I am because I'm a Leo.

And all through school, my day dreaming and inability to concentrate on any one subject for more than 10 minutes was attributed to my "Leo" traits of always wanting to be the centre of attention.

I class myself as an entertainer, as I believe, I have the ability to do just that, and generally joe public don't. Having the ability to speak publically, and read the audience to give them the music they want.

Do we all see ourselves as entertainers....???
And how many of us are Leo's or similar....???

I'm a leo.....mmmmm.....I did a dead ant in front of my rig in the middle of star trekkin' last night at my gig......is that typical?

I always refer to myself as an entertainer cus i do far more than play music.....if the public are up for it I include daft games and lead them in silly dances......and also include balloon modelling (my 'adult' hats go down a storm when everyone is drunk).

i dont think everyone is an entertainer ..... some are entertainers .... some are technical djs ... some are brilliant hosts/comperes and some a mix of the above.

But surely you adjust your performance to suit venue and guests and suitability of occasion. I can do the barmy and rediculous....but on the other hand I can also do the respectable and sedate when the occasion calls for it (I'm also a toastmaster)

cheese and ham for you tony???? :D :D :D

just had to look up what the topic was lololol.

i think speaking publically is a very hard skill and getting the talk right for the crowd is even harder ...... lots of people just play music and dont go down the entertainer route.

As another Rob, I object to that!!!!

And I consider myself an entertainer who adapts to the atmosphere required at each function, barmy or sedate as needs be.

i call myself a DJ, i can read a crowd, play good music, speak to the crowd and build up a rapport, i can also take a wander with the cordless mic, and encourage them up to take part in a game etc - but thats a DJ for me

Steve,

Do you find that you entertain when you're at home & you don't when you're working?
