123 reg down?

Hi Guys, just been informed that my sites down (thanks Wensleydale) its hosted by 123-reg.co .uk it seems like there whole place has gone as ive tried another couple of sites they host and there's nothing.

Anyone else hosted by them and can shed any light?

I host with Servage you see, so it's impossible for 123 reg to take my domain down....

They do it all! Domains are registered and they host them.

Not being a web guru I thought this was the easiest way for me.Would appreciate tips on how to avoid this in the future though

it gives this message when you ty and go there:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Apache/2.0.54 (Fedora) Server at www.spiritshigh.org.uk Port 80

A forbidden error, sort of suggests your main page (index.html or .htm etc) doesn't exsist, although if the system is mucking about then it's more than likely a temp thing.

Does the site resolve the problem itself? If so, I wouldn't worry too much, 123 reg don't go down very often...and its inevitable that hosts will go down from time to time.

Its not happened before in the 2 years i've been with them so suppose I can let them off.

Will check it again in the morning and call customer services if its not sorted.

Got email off them this morning:

We are currently experiencing some technical problems with the Instantsite platform. 123-Reg would like to apologise

for any inconvenience this may cause and we are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.


Wow , an apology that will please clients trying to access my site, i've got next to no work as it is!

I know what the prob is got an email after i sent a suppost ticket to them it too 2 mins to get a reply!!! (No Joke!!!)

Our datacenter is currently under a major DDoS attack (multiple gigabit/sec) . This may cause network latency to be larger than normal. We are working hard to resolve this issue and is currently optimizing our firewall rules and routing to cope with it.
