Wire free headphones

I know they exist for home use but can they be used in our situation? I pc dj and use a Firewire 410 soundcard http://www.absolutemusic.co.uk/shop/view_product.php?product=maufirewire410&searchlink=yes&search=FIREWIRE%20410&page=1 I get fed up with wires down by my feet and getting caught up on things. Any thoughts? Cheers.

Cant see why not if you buy decent ones

I tried a pair of AKG ones out from the guys at ultimate at plasa one year and went for a wander round earls court wearing them the range was good and the sound quality was impressive but they were £100+ :)

Senheisser do one for £50 with a pretty good range. Been looking at some myself but remember the sender unit for them takes up a signal and a mains socket. So really you are adding 1 extra cable over a standard wired set.
But at least you wont hang yourself when forgeting to take them off and wondering away lol

then can be used for dj use i think but would it be better to use normal headphones. saves a little extra time setting up plus if you need to buy batteries then it could save a little cash there but if thats not a problem then go for it. also it means if you are trying to hear a song and also need a drink then you could walk upto the bar, order your drink and still be able to hear the song. :p

i think they look very "DJ" and the price is good aswell plus there sony

cant see how the connection for them is any different to any normal headphones if you can use normal ones then you can use wireless :)

why dont you get an old telephone recevier and put a jack plug on the end they are great and gives you that retro feel

The other solution to the cables at your feet is a curly cord ;)

I railed against going with the curly corded cans for ages, but after accidentally destroying my second set of headphones by catching the cord with my feet I changed.

Have a look at in-ear monitoring systems if you are looking at pro stuff. Start around £200 though.
