Van Hire

Follwoing on from my numerous van threads, does anyone know of a reasonable national hire company who do cheap van hire, maybe a good weekend rate.

Looking at transit / Vivaro size. Cheapest I can find is £100, which is a little too much, but might be only option

For a van of that size, £100 is about the going rate for weekend use.

If you have a business account, your bank may have a preferential rate with Hertz, Avis, etc.

i did actually mean that- i got business rates from a local firm a while ago as I said i was a business and might need a van on a regular basis- they gave me a dicount as an incentive and i got a cheap van to move a sofa.

it worked as i have been back several times, but i had to make out i was a little larger to start with than i am.

so it was relatively constructive

Just a thought, but if you have a tow hitch, you might find a trailer hire in your area. I occasionally hire a massive great 4 wheeler box trailer and its about £65 for 3-4 days.

ask for a 48 hour test drive over the weeked.

vauxhall used to do a 3 day test drive.
i'm sure you could find a place that would oblige if you make a few phonecalls and explain that you need to ensure your kit fits in.

I sometimes hire a sprinter van from a independant local Co.
Pick up Sat morning ....return Monday 8am £45. Thats with extra cover and windscreen insurance for £5.00
Have a look for the smaller independant in your area first.

if they are offering this out then they will have some cover that is valid for everyone- the whole point of it is to let tradesmen try the van.

I hire off my mate for £25 local and £40 non local, plus I put the fuel in so £100 aint bad for weekend usage if your getting a certain amount of fuel
