Sound drop outs - about 15 a night for 2 nights after a lot of work and optomising the laptop.

I say 2 nights, cos I know use Virtual DJ which is solid.

ive still got red and intend to spend the next 4 weeks playing with fx to see what happens when i do certain things ...... 4 weeks with 8 hours a day with nothing to do and no way of going anywhere should be enough time to find my way round things and give it enough test time??

ive got it on a compaq notebook that i inherited free so lots of testing is needed on both software and equipment.

Not sure what you mean about the layout - you can move things around.

I think PCDJ is the best music playback system, but VDJ does so much more if you need it to.

Hold fire and dont buy anything for now :D Especially if you are a big PCDJ fan and wont look at any other brand

PCDJ Reflex is just around the corner which is supposed to be the dogs dangles if you are just looking for an audio solution...

and out within a nats whisker is PCDJ VJ so if you're looking for an all in one solution for video, karaoke and audio then this might be for you...

OF course if you are not a major PCDJ brand boff and don't mind looking at other softwares skip them altogether and head straight over to the virtual dj camp :D

Oh and if you don't like the VDJ look don't worry you can make it look identical to PCDJ with the PCDJ skin... Best of both worlds then.

hmmm seems the PCDJ skin was only supported up to version 3.2 ..... and isn't on there now... Few other skin views of what you can make the system look like can be found here....

I'm pretty sure I remember asking the same thing when I had the demo version Paul. It may not be on there - but it's definately on the full version.

the search feature is on right above playlist, but it only searches the right colum playlist, not the whole database, demo is fully functional so it says.
i'll keep trying

IF you are playing with the VDJ version 5 demo then yes anything you type in the search box will bring up results having searched all files and folders not just the folder selected on the left hand side..

The first time you run VDJ (or now if you haven't) just make sure you have right hand mouse clicked on the desktop button on the left and clicked Add to Search DB.. That will add every single audio, video and karaoke file on your computer into the VDJ search database...

If you only want a certain drive added to the database just click on that drive and add to search DB and it will ignore the rest of the files on any other drive or location.

Have you recursed the drive as well as added it to the search DB.... again by right clicking the drive and clicking on recurse....

its pointless asking which is best because everyone has personal prefrancesAs stated in the forum rules. Does anyone apart from the Admin staff read them?

7. Try to be specific in any questions you ask: Asking "what's best" can only get subjective replies. Everyone has their own view about what's best! Explain what you want, what you want to use it for, what your budget may be, etc and the help and advice you receive is likely to be more beneficial.

also try vertual dj (one i use )

Even if you can't spell it :sj:
