I dont suppose its the best option--ask the manufacturers--I leave my Skytecs ( back up speakers) in a dry garage all year and they still sound rubbish.

No--only joking---doesnt appear to be a problem but if your paying for top quality I wouldnt do it.

I would have thought so.

Surely dampness will reduce the life of the speakers, as they must be more likely to pop a cone at a gig if they're stored in a damp garage all winter.

I think you'll find the inside of the magnet (which is normally steel) will go rusty after a long period, I have some bass cabs I used to keep in a garden shed that went all right when cold but went dead short after a hour or so's use, why not put a small heater in the workshop or wrap them in an old quilt?

Stored some speakers in our spare room at my last place. It suffered from damp as it was a suspended room above an outside stairwell. Forgot about them then needed them took them out only to find the cones had mould growing on them. Needless to say I just ditched them.
If they are expensive don't do it. If cheap could wrap them in an old duvet or blanket keep them off the ground and they should be fine.
